San Francisco selected the contract of left-hander Cesar Perdomo from Triple-A Sacramento on September 1 and he made his major league debut the same afternoon at Pittsburgh, pitching the fourth through the seventh innings of a 13-12 loss. Perdomo faced fifteen batters, recorded twelve outs, allowed three hits and one run, walked one and struck out four, throwing 40 of 58 pitches for strikes. Logan Webb started and was charged with nine earned runs while recording six outs against eighteen batters faced. Perdomo is 24, signed as a free agent out of Venezuela on July 2, 2021, and did not appear in a professional game until June 2022, when a 60-day injured list stay ended his first season after fifteen innings. He did not reach a full-season league until April 2024 and was assigned to Double-A Richmond on April 1 of this year, five months before his debut.
